Discussing and demonstrating, then practicing the basic fundamentals of:

• All aspects of safety.
• Determining eye dominance.
• How to operate the traps that throw the clays.
• The basics of a proper stance, as is necessary in all sports.
• How to safely determine the gun is unloaded.
• How to operate the safety.
• How to load and unload the gun.
• How to efficiently and correctly mount the gun.
• Check for proper gun fit.
• How to launch and understand the dynamics of reading the flight of the clays.
• When to pull the trigger.
• How and why we "follow through".
• Scoring.
• The basics of gun cleaning.

Consequently, due to the high quality content, the first lesson normally will be two hours.

Check the weather and dress accordingly.

• We don't shoot if there is lightning in the vicinity however we will shoot if it is raining due to the shooting stations being covered.
• If the weather is cool be sure to layer.
• Don't wear thick / bulky jackets.
• Hat, thin gloves, boots preferred.
• If warm or hot be sure to wear clothing to protect from sunburn.
• Do not wear open toed shoes or flip flops.
• Sunblock.
• Insect repellent.
• Non-alcoholic beverages & snacks.
• Eye & "in- ear" hearing protection. Not ear muffs.
